VineArts held our first “Odd Art Festival” in July of 2019 in the parking lot of the VineArts Studio. Over 30 “Odd Art” Vendors each brought 1 artwork to demo, 3 things to give away, and 5+ artworks to exhibit (1-3-5… odd!) while offering delightful conversations about their creative process.

The festival is free, interactive, and designed for adults, but kids are welcome too (children must be accompanied by a parent at all times).

OUTDOOR INSTALLATION ART

The outdoor installation in the woods invited people to walk through a grove of trees to imagine a cathedral, re-imagined by installation artists Amandalynn Lovewell and Heather Feld-Wright. We ignited our memories of childhood play forts and places of wonder.

“SHOW US YOUR ART” RAFFLE DRAWING

Need art supplies? At the festival, if you show us 3 images of artwork YOU created (you can show us photos on your phone), we’ll enter you into a raffle to win $200 of art supplies! Examples: Show us your sketchbook, or 3 photos you took on your phone, or a digital animation you made, a cake you baked, and a woodcarving you made, or a poem you wrote, a short video you created, etc. You can also create 3 small pieces of art at our free art-making stations at the festival, and show us what you drew; those count, too!

FREE ART WORKSHOPS AND ART DEMOS

If we learn art secrets, we like to share them. Enjoy some fun hands-on instruction in various mediums by a multitude of artists at the festival, inside the studio and out in the parking lot. Interactive demos and workshops offered during the Odd Art Festival in 2019 included:

  • Painting trees in watercolor
  • Floral painting with ink and string

ABOUT US

At VineArts, we believe God is passionate for art and design…. that God made each person unique and creative in a billion different ways… that art is for everyone, and we mean everyone… and that we can grow closer to God by developing our unique sensitivity to beauty and brokenness. We believe art and faith go together.

It’s time to integrate your heart with creativity. The best way to learn is in community.

Let’s grow artistically and spiritually, together.

VineArts is a ministry of Vineyard Boise Christian Fellowship. We have tables in the sanctuary, and you’re invited to bring your own art supplies to Sunday services and draw/create during the service (YES, we do art in church, during the music and during the message, too). Tip: Bring a small reading/book light to see better. Just two things: 1) Make your art silently so as not to distract others, and 2) clean up your area when you’re done. Church service is currently at 10:00 am Sunday mornings. Come as you are, you’ll be loved.
